I love the way Sarah Tomczak describes the layers of her love for her two daughters in this article in the Red Online Motherhood Diaries. The letters she writes to her girls on their birthdays is a particularly sweet idea. I do something similar for mine; each girl has a book I write in for them whenever the mood takes me (i.e. if we’ve managed to get them asleep at a decent hour and I have energy thereafter to do anything other than collapse on the couch with a glass of sauvignon).
I’ve just received my latest family photo album – for the year 2014. Okay, so I’m a couple of years behind but I’m sure I’ll catch up by 2026… I love the finished product by Photobox and have used them for all our albums since we got married and I opted to do our own wedding album. Right now they have 50% off lots of their products for Father’s Day.
This weekend I’m reading Recipes for Love and Murder by Sally Andrew. A gift from my best gf, it is delightful and delicious.
This weekend I’ll be glued to the French Open Finals – The Ladies’ on Saturday (Go Serena!) and the Men’s on Sunday (come on Andy!) at 3pm local time. Actually… who am I kidding? I have small children. I will be snatching bite-size snippets of the finals whenever I can. If we’re home and the TV is on my 3 year old knows exactly how to change the channel to Disney Junior…
Bless the man who wrote this… For dads everywhere, here are some thoughts for the weekend.
